Summary of Research 

For the research of my Cover I first looked at work by John Stezaker and then looked at lots of different self portraits. Overall the work I felt was most relevant for the cover was by John Stezaker. I feel like his photos captured the model so powerfully and the look was contemporary and simple. This is what I wanted to do for myself.

I was very happy with my final magazine cover.  I particularly liked the way I used the graphics as I felt this was a bit different from the usual magazines around.  The title blending into the border combined with the colour theme and the positioning achieves a good balance making both the photograph and the title stand out well.

Creating a self portrait within a magazine cover was challenging it had to accommodate two things, a self portrait and a magazine cover.  It would have been easier to shoot a self portrait for example at home but that would not have looked right for a magazine cover.

It would be interesting to create different magazine covers with different subjects and models and maybe develop the modern style which I was happy with on this project.
